The Inland Rail Moree Office is now open, providing a greater link between the local community and Government leading up to and throughout the construction of the rail track.
The Government is undertaking a review of the Lands Acquisition Act 1989 (the Act) to ensure it reflects modern community expectations and is in line with current public administration practices. Public consultation will inform the Review and we invite feedback from interested parties. The Act has now been in operation for 30 years without substantive change.
Australian businesses will have improved cash flow and be better off under the Government’s new five-day e-Invoicing payment policy, which came into effect today. Last year the Government announced that from 1 January 2020, federal agencies will start paying e-Invoices within five days or pay interest on any late payments.
The Government’s ageing COMCAR fleet of Holden Caprice sedans will be replaced with a fleet of new vehicles that will save taxpayers $100,000 each year and are more environmentally-friendly. The Department of Finance conducted a competitive assessment of 18 possible replacement vehicles.
The underlying cash balance for the 2019-20 financial year to 30 November 2019 was a deficit of $13,848 million against the 2019-20 Budget profile deficit of $13,130 million.
