The Albanese Labor Government recognises the important contribution small businesses make to the Australian economy and is committed to a level playing field for small businesses when competing for Australian Government contracts. 

The Monthly Financial Statements for March 2024 report the budget position against the expected monthly profile for the 2023-24 financial year through to 31 March 2024, based on the 2023-24 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) estimates published in December 2023.

The Albanese Government recognises the significance of government funding to community sector organisations and is mandating that agencies pass on indexation to grant recipients where grant programs are linked to one of the wage cost indexes.
